TAKE ROOT Supports

TAKE ROOT is my DIY fundraiser. The prints are sold as a way to help raise money for various causes and organizations that help people settle in, TAKE ROOT and become established in a new situation or environment. Currently, proceeds support:

The African Leadership Refugee Ministry:
This ministry serves refugees and immigrants currently living in Middle Tennessee, seeking to give them give biblical hope and healing. Since 2000, they have welcomed and provided assistance to hundreds of families and individuals as they arrive and resettle. The Refugee Ministry has served refugees from countries all across the African continent, including Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea, Togo, Congo Brazzaville, and Equatorial Guinea. I have been volunteering with the ministry since 2009 and am currently mentoring two amazing families from Congo and Burundi.

A Local Family's Ethiopian Adoption:
We have friends who are currently seeking to adopt from Ethiopia. Through them, we have seen that adoption takes a great amount of love, prayer, patience and perseverance. And of course, it takes money - something that we want to help them with in some small way.

Where can I find a frame for one of the Bus Scroll prints?
The 11.75" x 36" Bus Scroll prints are designed for easy framing, fitting the standard "ready-to-fill and hang" 11.75" x 36" frames available locally at stores that sell frames and framing supplies such as Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnn. Michael's, for example, sells a cool looking 11.75" x 36" pewter frame in their "Trendsetter" brand (see below, right). The silver 11.75" x 36" frame (below, left) is from JoAnn.

::: SIZE :::
The design measures 11.75" x 36" with a thin white border around the edge that is slightly larger (in order to make framing easier, accommodating different frame brands). When framed in a standard 11.75" x 36" frame, the white edge will not be visible.

::: FRAMING :::
The 11.75" x 36" Bus Scroll prints are designed for easy framing, fitting the standard "ready-to-fill and hang" 11.75" x 36" frames available locally at stores that sell frames and framing supplies such as Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn, Target and Ikea. I print these with a little bit of white border around the edge to accommodate all different framing options. Depending on the frame brand, you may have to trim some or all of the white border - but when framed, none of the white border shows through as the black background of the design extends all the way to the 11.75" x 36" size. ***A FRAME IS NOT INCLUDED: the print is sold unmatted and unframed.***
